What’s a potlatch? Join Burke Museum Docent Tony Ward-Smith in the Red Area at HSL as he describes the sights, purposes, and history of this gift-giving tradition practiced by the Coast Salish and Northwest Coast peoples. The potlatch has been a social and economic focal point of these cultures for centuries, and this living tradition continues to be an important practice for these peoples.
