Phase 2 at the Health Sciences Library
July 08, 2020
To our Valued Health Sciences Faculty, Staff, Students, and Community members,
Thank you. As we adjust to our new normal, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and full transition to online library services during COVID-19. Thank you especially to our many students and faculty, who are on the frontlines in the UW Medicine hospitals and clinics, either helping treat patients or providing essential services to our communities in the Seattle and WWAMI communities.
Our highest priority is always the safety and well-being of Health Sciences Library librarians, professionals, staff and users. Although the UW Health Sciences Library, HEALWA, and NNLM Pacific Northwest regional medical library offices remain closed to the public, we are answering questions online daily from users facing questions or research needs because of the pandemic. Since March, our UW Health Sciences Library and HEALWA websites have assisted thousands of individuals and health professionals with literature searches, access to online journals, curriculum support, room reservations, and exam scheduling.
We remain closed and have transitioned to online services, including online consultation requests performed by our excellent librarians serving the Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy and Public Health schools via Zoom. If you need help with a literature search, please visit: Ask Us!
Because our return to on-site services in Seattle will be gradual, some users may experience delays in responses as we are not fully staffed. If you receive an automated response from a librarian, please send your urgent question to: Questions and Comments. For real time updates of our library re-opening information, visit: UW Libraries COVID-19 Updates.
We are proud to stand with our faculty, staff, students and community members across the Puget Sound and WWAMI region as we all navigate the coming months together.
If you have any questions regarding the reopening of the UW Health Sciences Library, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
