The University of Washington medical system generates a tremendous amount of information on a daily basis. This treasure trove of data can be used for clinical research in a number of interesting and unique ways.
This data warehouse is accessible for researchers through two different methods.
LEAF: A home-grown cohort discovery tool that’s ideal for quickly identifying cohorts of patients without the need for extensive programming experience. Check Leaf out if you have a relatively simple question to ask of the system.
Biomedical Informatics Consult Team: The BMI consult team works on a fee for service to extract data from the University of Washington Clinical Data Warehouse. Their services are ideal for researchers that might want to setup a more permanent screen or need a more complex question answered.
